| Comments | 人口集中地区（じんこうしゅうちゅうちく）とは、日本の国勢調査において設定される統計上の地区である。英語による"Densely Inhabited District"を略して「DID」とも呼ばれる。市区町村の区域内で人口密度が4,000人/km2以上の基本単位区（平成2年（1990年）以前は調査区）が互いに隣接して人口が5,000人以上となる地区に設定される。ただし、空港、港湾、工業地帯、公園など都市的傾向の強い基本単位区は人口密度が低くても人口集中地区に含まれる。都市的地域と農村的地域の区分けや、狭義の都市としての市街地の規模を示す指標として使用される。 |
