| Outline of data | 秋田杉は豊臣秀吉が伏見城の改修工事で使用するなど、４００年以上も前から広く知られていた。江戸時代、秋田藩主佐竹侯が林業経営に乗り出し、その家臣たちは各地で大きな功績を残している。スギ人工林面積は２３万６千haで全国一。秋田スギは建材のほか、桶やお弁当箱等の食器、最近は間伐材をバイオマス燃料として使用したり、粉砕してからペレットにして家畜の飼料に配合するなどの研究も進んでいる。 |
